Brown Trout Fishing on Lake Ontario

(April-July) 

These footballs are always packed full of fun. In the spring trolling along the shoreline of Lake Ontario in 5-10 feet of water with planer boards and light tackle produces constant action of 3-5 pound fish, with some reaching 15 pounds or more. These brown trout become resident fish in Henderson Harbor all year long unlike other ports. Our huge population of bait (alewife) keeps these fish here and can produce more numbers of 10-15 pound trophy Browns than anywhere.
